EXERCISE OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES

JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc (the 'Company') announces that today it issued 1,258,499 Ordinary shares following the exercise of conversion rights by a number of uncertificated and certificated Subscription shareholders.

The shares in issue following this notification are 77,299,960 Ordinary shares and 12,798,448 Subscription shares.
