                              ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that today, Tuesday 22nd
February 2005, it issued 100,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 64.5
pence per share representing 0.15% of the ordinary shares in issue.


The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 450,000.  A
further 6,158,700 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM in 2004.


The outstanding shares in issue following this notification are 66,537,001.
