JPMORGAN CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces that it has published and posted to the Company's shareholders today a circular and notices convening a Class Meeting of the holders of Subscription shares in the Company and a General Meeting of the Company to be held at 10.00 a.m. and 10.15 a.m. respectively on 28 June 2010.  The Meetings are to be held at J.P. Morgan's Offices, Finsbury Dials, 20 Finsbury Street, London EC2Y 9AQ.

The Company is seeking shareholder approval for the adoption of new articles of association to permit holders of Subscription shares to exercise their Subscription Share Rights at any time from the date that shareholder approval is received until 15 May 2013 (following which the rights of the Subscription shares will lapse).  During this period the Ordinary shares arising from any exercise of Subscription Share Rights would be allotted on a monthly basis.  In addition, the new articles of association would reflect certain changes in company law resulting, inter alia, from the implementation of the Companies Act 2006.

A copy of the circular has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at Financial Services Authority, 25 North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
