announcement released on 8 November 1999 at 17:33 under RNS No 4716a.
In the second paragragh total shares repurchased should read '325,000
representing 0.54%' and not '345,000 representing 0.57%' as previously shown.

THE FLEMING CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION
The Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that
yesterday in the market they purchased for cancellation
300,000 ordinary shares at 46.0p per share representing
a total of 0.49% of the ordinary shares in issue.
The number of shares repurchased to date now totals
325,000 representing 0.54% of the ordinary shares in
issue at the time of commencement of the repurchase
programme.
The remaining number of shares in issue following this
purchase is 60,135,840.
