                        ANNOUNCEMENT OF SPECIAL DIVIDEND



In accordance with the terms of the Company's participation in the
reconstruction of F&C Emerging Markets Investment Trust and to avoid income
dilution for existing shareholders, the Directors have declared that a special
dividend of 1.50 pence per Ordinary share will be paid on 10th May 2006 to
shareholders on the register at the close of business on 7th April 2006.
