                    JPMORGAN EMERGING MARKETS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC





In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 we
would like to notify the market of the following:



JPMorgan Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc's capital consists of 110,303,742
ordinary 25 pence shares with voting rights.  JPMorgan Emerging Markets
Investment Trust plc does not hold any shares in treasury.



Therefore, the total number of voting rights in JPMorgan Emerging Markets
Investment Trust plc is 110,303,742.



The above figure (110,303,742) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, JPMorgan Emerging Markets
Investment Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
