REPURCHASE OF SHARES FOR CANCELLATION

JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Trust plc purchased 50,000 ordinary shares at 656.10 pence per share on Friday 9th July 2010 for cancellation.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue total 45,086,739.
