JPMORGAN EUROPEAN SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION

(the 'Company')

JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Trust plc has today purchased 60,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at 278.50 pence per share.

Following the transaction the number of ordinary shares in issue is 159,987,885.

The Company does not hold any shares in Treasury.
