      Renewal of Authority to Repurchase Own Ordinary
                       Shares

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company
held on Wednesday 28  July 1999 authority was given
by shareholders for the Company to purchase  up  to
16,931,744 of its own ordinary shares (representing
14.99% of the Company's issued share capital) for
cancellation.
