JPMORGAN GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS INCOME TRUST PLC

APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR

The Board of JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust plc is pleased to announce its intention to appoint Caroline Gulliver as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1^st January 2015.

Caroline Gulliver is a Chartered Accountant with a background in the provision of audit services, more particularly for investment trust clients.  She spent her career with Ernst & Young LLP until 2012 and served on a number of working groups and committees relating to the investment trust industry.

No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the UKLA Listing Rules for Caroline Gulliver.
