JPMORGAN GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS INCOME TRUST PLC

GEARING

JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust plc announces that on 12th November 2010 the Company entered into an agreement for a secured loan facility of up to $20 million. This loan, which has been drawn down in full today, has a term of three years and carries an interest rate of 2.15 per cent. over 6 month US Dollar London Inter-Bank Offer Rate (LIBOR). The Company has entered into an interest rate swap agreement to fix the effective interest costs of the loan over its life at 3.34%.
