                                 ISSUE OF SHARES



JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Tuesday 3rd January
2006, it issued 700,000 ordinary shares to five market participants at 247.00
pence per share representing 0.7% of the ordinary shares in issue.



The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 2,625,000.  A
further 7,029,036 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the EGM held on 1st November 2005.



The shares in issue following this notification are 99,290,392.
