                                 ISSUE OF SHARES



JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Monday 16th January
2006, it issued 50,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 245.00 pence
per share representing 0.05% of the ordinary shares in issue.



The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 3,025,000.  A
further 6,629,036 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the EGM held on 1st November 2005.


The shares in issue following this notification are 99,690,392.
