                                   ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Tuesday 24th January
2006, it issued 50,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 254.25 pence
per share representing 0.05% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 50,000.  A
further 10,581,940 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM held today.

The shares in issue following this notification are 100,390,392.
