                      JPMORGAN INDIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                                 TREASURY STOCK

JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc has today purchased into treasury 360,000
ordinary shares at 415.0 pence per share.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue less the total number of
treasury shares is 102,906,874. The Company will only re-issue shares held in
treasury at a premium to net asset value.
