EXERCISE OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES

JPMorgan Fleming Japanese Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc announces that today it issued 164 Ordinary shares following the exercise of conversion rights by a number of certificated Subscription shareholders.

The shares in issue following this notification are 39,862,153 Ordinary shares, including 419,500 held in Treasury, and 7,246,143 Subscription shares.
