EXERCISE OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES

JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc announces that today it issued 88 Ordinary shares following the exercise of conversion rights by a number of uncertificated Subscription shareholders.

The shares in issue following this notification are 39,870,207 Ordinary shares, including 419,500 held in Treasury, and 7,238,089 Subscription shares.
