EXERCISE OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES

JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc announces that today it issued 216 Ordinary shares following the exercise of conversion rights by a number of uncertificated Subscription shareholders.

The shares in issue following this notification are 39,870,423 Ordinary shares, including 419,500 held in Treasury, and 7,237,873Subscription shares.
