                   THE FLEMING JAPANESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC


Further to the announcement made on 18th December 2003, the Company announces
that The Registrar of Companies has issued the certificate of incorporation on
change of name and therefore the name of the Company has been changed to
JPMorgan Fleming Japanese Investment Trust plc with effect from 19th December
2003.
