New Director

The Board of JPMorgan Fleming Japanese Investment Trust plc is pleased to
announce the appointment of Keith Edward Percy as a non-executive Director with
immediate effect.

Mr Percy has extensive business and investment management experience and is
currently Chairman and Chief Executive of Societe Generale Asset Management
(SGAM).  He is also a Director of Deutsche Equity Income Trust plc, Brunner
Investment Trust and  SGAM (SA), the Board responsible for SGAM worldwide.

There are no further details requiring disclosure under paragraph 16.4 of the
FSA listing Rules.
