The Board of JPMorgan Mid Cap Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Michael Hughes as a non-executive Director of the Company with
effect from 8th May 2008.

Mr Hughes was Chief Investment Officer of Baring Asset Management from 2000 
to 2007.

It is confirmed that there is no information to be disclosed under Listing 
Rule 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
