JPMORGAN EMERGING MARKETS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

('The Company')

In conformity with the Transparency Directive the Company would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 30th April 2012 the Company's share capital consists of 114,471,234  Ordinary 25 pence shares and 17,892,291 Subscription shares of 1 pence each. The Company holds 70,000 Ordinary shares in Treasury. Therefore as at 30th April 2012, the total number of voting rights for Ordinary shareholders in JPMorgan Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc is 114,401,234.

The above figure (114,401,234) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to, their interest in the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
