Declaration of Special Interim Dividend

Further to the announcement on 28th November 2008, the Board of JPMorgan Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc is pleased to confirm that an agreement with JPMorgan on the recovery of past VAT has been executed. Following receipt of the payment of the VAT recovery and interest announced on 24th December 2008, the Directors declare that a special one-off interim dividend of 3 pence per share for the year ending 31st July 2009 will be paid on 30 January 2009 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 16th January 2009, having an ex-dividend date of 14th January 2009.
