JPMORGAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION

(the 'Company')

JPMorgan Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc has today purchased 55,715 ordinary shares for cancellation at 790.73 pence per share.

Following the transaction the number of ordinary shares in issue is 16,694,131.

The Company does not hold any shares in Treasury. Any shares held in Treasury would only be re-issued at a premium to net asset value.
