The Board of JPMorgan US Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David Ross as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st March 2015.
Mr Ross is a certified accountant and has over 45 years in the investment industry.
He is currently non-executive Director of EP Global Opportunities Trust and previously served on the General Committee of the Association of Investment Trust Companies.
Mr Ross began his working career at Ivory & Sime in 1968. He held various roles in the Group, including being made Director and Company Secretary to the Group in 1982, and Managing Director between 1988 and 1990. He had responsibility for the administration of all clients as well as the Group itself, and his responsibilities included the creation of funds in Bermuda, Guernsey, Luxembourg and other off-shore centres, as well as providing secretarial and administration services for a number of investment trusts managed by other investment management houses.
In 1990 Mr Ross left Ivory & Sime and became one of five founding partners of Aberforth Partners LLP, an investment management firm specialising in investment in UK small quoted companies. He was also one of the Partners responsible for the launch of Aberforth Geared Income Trust and Aberford Smaller Companies Trust. Mr Ross retired from Aberforth in 2014.
