The Board of JPMorgan US Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc, as part of its succession planning, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Shefaly Yogendra as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st November 2016.
Dr Yogendra has spent her career to date working with investors and start-up companies, advising CEOs and teaching multi-disciplinary courses to both undergraduates and graduates in India. She is on the "100 Women To Watch" list for 2016, published annually as part of the Female FTSE Board Report.
Dr Yogendra commenced her career in the corporate venturing department for HCL Group where she created and developed several ventures in different countries. From there she worked as a risk assessment and strategy consultant in London, working with several private sector firms and political bodies. Dr Yogendra was also co-founder and Board Director of Livyora, a fine-jewellery venture. She is currently a Trustee of BeyondMe, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Dr Yogendra is a scholar of Judge Business School, Cambridge University, where she obtained a Master's in Technology Policy and a PhD in Decision Making. She is also a former Cambridge-MIT Institute Research Fellow of MIT's Technology & Policy Programme in the Engineering Services Division
