Jupiter Fund Management plc appoints Maarten Slendebroek
as Distribution and Strategy Director
Jupiter Fund Management plc ("Jupiter", "the Company") is pleased to announce that Maarten Slendebroek will, subject to FSA approval, join the Board as an Executive Director responsible for Distribution and Strategy, a new role reporting to Group Chief Executive Edward Bonham Carter. He is expected to join Jupiter in the second half of 2012.
Maarten will join the management team and build further on Jupiter's increasingly diversified distribution capabilities in the UK and abroad. Maarten, who has extensive experience of running cross-border asset management operations from his 25-year career in the investment industry, will join Jupiter from BlackRock where he has worked for 18 years, most recently as Head of International Retail.

Biography
Maarten Slendebroek, who joins Jupiter in the second half of 2012, is currently Head of BlackRock's International Retail business and a member of its Global Operating Committee, Global Client Group's Executive Committee, Leadership Committee and European Executive Committee, as well as a director on a number of BlackRock's UK and Luxembourg entity boards.
Prior to his current role, Maarten was the head of BlackRock Solutions EMEA region. His career with the firm dates back to 1994, including his years with Merrill Lynch and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, he was head of retail and institutional sales in Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa. Maarten joined Merrill Lynch (Smith New Court) in 1994 as an investment analyst and moved to MLIM in 2000. Earlier in his career, he worked as an investment analyst at Enskilda Securities, Morgan Grenfell and Wesselius.
Maarten Slendebroek who has a dual Dutch / Swedish nationality, earned a law degree (meester in de rechten) from Leiden University in the Netherlands in 1987.
