                                BOARD CHANGES
                                      
Kenwood Appliances plc announces that Professor Frank Hartley, who has been a
Non  Executive  Director for the past four years, will be retiring  from  the
Board  on  the  1 October 1999.  Julian Treger, Joint Chief Executive  of  
Active  Value  Advisors  Limited  who advise  the  company's  largest
shareholder, will be appointed to the Board as a Non Executive Director  with
effect from the same date.

David  Nash, Chairman of Kenwood Appliances plc said: 'I would like to  thank
Frank  Hartley  for his wise counsel and guidance during a  period  in  which
Kenwood  has  been  transformed  from a vertically  integrated  manufacturing
organisation to an agile brand led company.

'I would also like to welcome Julian Treger to the Board and look forward to
his contribution towards the continuing development of Kenwood.'
