Kenmare Resources announced on the 9th October, 2001 that Mr. Peter McAleer
had joined the board of Kenmare Resources as a Non-executive Director. The
following information represents disclosure which is required to be made under
the respective Listing Rules of the Irish Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority ('the Listing Rules') on the appointment of new directors.

Under 16.4 (a) the current directorships of Mr McAleer in Public companies are
as follows:
