              Kenmare Resources plc ('Kenmare' or 'the Company')

                     Extension of Warrant Exercise Period

Further to today's general meeting of the holders of outstanding warrants over
Ordinary Shares in Kenmare issued in accordance with the warrant instrument
dated 8 December, 1997, the period within which these warrants can be
exercised has been extended from 8 December, 2001 to 8 December, 2003.

As at the date hereof there are a total of 1,788,000 such warrants
outstanding.
