               Kenmare Resources plc ('Kenmare' or 'the Company')

                      Extension of Warrant Exercise Period

Further to today's general meeting of the holders of outstanding warrants over
Ordinary Shares in Kenmare issued in accordance with the warrant instrument
dated December 1999 / January 2000, the period within which these warrants can
be exercised has been extended from 31 December, 2002 to 31 December, 2004.

As at the date hereof there are a total of 10,018,800 such warrants outstanding.
