Kerry launches Mastertaste flavour division
2002 IFT Food Expo - Anaheim, California
Kerry, the food ingredients, flavours and consumer foods group, has launched
'Mastertaste', the Group's new global flavour division, at the Institute of
Food Technology (IFT) Annual Meeting and Food Expo, Anaheim Convention Center,
California, June 15 - 19, 2002. Reflecting the division's worldwide service
and flavour development capabilities, Mastertaste is focused on becoming the
premier flavour supplier dedicated to food and beverage markets. The launch
of Mastertaste brings together the Group's five recently acquired flavour
businesses with the Mastertaste UK and Australian flavour businesses acquired
in 1998, under a common identity, strategy for growth and flavour technology
development, and commitment to unrivalled customer service through the
provision of a wide range of innovative, high quality, authentic flavours for
food and beverage applications.
With industry acclaimed superiority in savoury, sweet and beverage flavours,
Mastertaste will capitalise on the Group's total flavour capability across all
markets served and provide the platform for further expansion and development
in the flavour industry. 'Our recently acquired SGF (San Giorgio Flavors) in
Europe, Geneva and Hickory flavour businesses in the U.S., combined with the
Group's existing flavour business in European and Asia Pacific markets, gives
Mastertaste a strong technical and well resourced international base from
which to build a leading global flavour company specialising on food and
beverage markets', explained Kevin Lane, Mastertaste, President and CEO.
'Supported by the Group's understanding of food and beverage applications and
consumer requirements, and its culinary expertise, I believe Mastertaste is in
a unique position to meet the flavour requirements of food and beverage
companies on a worldwide basis' he added.
Mastertaste will continue to expand its presence in major market categories
including savoury products, dairy product applications, beverage and
confectionery, through the division's leading-edge reaction, topnote,
biotechnology, encapsulation, extraction, distillation, micro-granulation,
pyrolysis and smoke fractionation flavour technologies. Speaking at the IFT
launch of Mastertaste, Hugh Friel, Kerry Group, Managing Director, said that
Mastertaste is dedicated to expanding its business with the Group's
multinational and regional customers on a worldwide basis by demonstrating its
leading flavour technologies. 'We are fully committed to attaining leadership
in the food and beverage industries through Mastertaste's world-class flavour
technologies and to on-going investment in acquiring and commercialisation of
new technologies'.
