The Board of Kier Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Don
Goulding as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 December
2005.


Don, aged 51, is the Managing Director of Diageo GB and a member of the Smirnoff
Global Brand Executive Board.  Since joining Diageo plc (formally Guinness) in
1985, Don has held positions across the business, including General Manager in a
number of European countries, as well as responsibility for Diageo's
non-production operations in the UK.


Peter Warry, Chairman, said:


"I am very much looking forward to welcoming Don to the Board.  We are
anticipating that his considerable experience will add a valuable extra
dimension to Board debate."


No information in relation to Mr. Goulding is required to be disclosed pursuant
to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.



As at 31 October 2005, Mr Goulding had no beneficial interest in the share
capital of the Company.
