                               DIRECTORATE CHANGE

The Board of Kier Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris
Geoghegan as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 July
2007.

Mr Geoghegan, aged 53, was appointed to the Board of BAE Systems plc in July
2002 as Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for all European Joint
Ventures and UK Defence Electronics assets.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and President of the Society of
British Aerospace Companies.

Peter Warry, Chairman, said:

considerable knowledge of major international business will add a valuable
dimension to board debate."

Mr. Geoghegan is a director of BAE Systems plc, otherwise no information in
relation to Mr. Geoghegan is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule
9.6.13R.

As at the date of this announcement, Mr. Geoghegan has no beneficial interest in
the share capital of the Company.
