Kier Group plc - Ordinary Shares of 1p each

Robert Fleming Holdings Limited, on behalf of itself and its subsidiaries,
notified Kier Group plc on 18 August 1999 that, as a result of its disposal of
its joint-venture interest in Electra Fleming Limited earlier this year, it no
longer has a notifiable interest of 10% or above in the nominal value of the
share capital of Kier Group plc and that the material interests of both
Fleming Mercantile Investment Trust plc and Electra Fleming Quoted Partners
Limited remain the same.
