Kier consortium signed up for £60m Norfolk & Suffolk Police Investigation Centres
Justice Support Services, a consortium comprising Kier, Uberior Infrastructure Investments, part of the Lloyds Banking Group and Reliance Secure Task Management, has now reached financial close to deliver six new police investigation centres in Norfolk and Suffolk on behalf of the Norfolk and Suffolk Police Authorities.
The private finance initiative (PFI) project will see new centres built at Wymondham, Aylsham, Great Yarmouth, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and King's Lynn, which will be run over a 30-year concession period.
One of the largest PFI projects within the police sector, Kier will construct the centres under a £60m contract and Reliance will provide facilities management services.
The centres will accommodate police officers, staff and investigators. Suspects will also be held in custody for questioning. The new centres will have top of the range, modern facilities that will be of a consistent standard and will feature amongst the most up-to-date in the country.
Kier Group chief executive John Dodds commented: "We are delighted to have reached this exciting milestone and look forward to working closely with Norfolk & Suffolk Police Authorities in providing a best value solution to greatly enhance policing services across Norfolk and Suffolk."
