Kier Group plc - Retirement of Director

Kier Group plc announces that Mr P G Corbett, a non-executive director of the
company since 1996, will not be seeking re-election when he retires by
rotation at the Annual General Meeting to be held on Saturday, 25 November
2000.

Colin Busby,chairman,said 'I would like to thank Graham Corbett for the
contribution he has made to our affairs since joining the Board.  He has
recently been appointed chairman of The Postal Services Commission
and,understandably, needs to reduce his other commitments.  He is therefore
retiring from the Board at the forthcoming AGM'.
