                        Kingfisher plc (the 'Company')

Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority for a listing of
499,763 Ordinary Shares of 12 1/2p each ('shares') to be admitted to the
Official List and to the London Stock Exchange plc for admission to trading.

It is expected that admission of the new shares will be granted on 17 August
2001 and that admission and trading will commence on 20 August 2001.

These shares are being listed to reconcile and update The Financial Services
Authority and the London Stock Exchange issued share capital with those of the
Company.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary shares.
