Kingfisher plc became aware on 24th October 2001 that:

Certain Directors of Kingfisher plc, whose names are set out below,
technically became interested in 500,000 Kingfisher plc ordinary shares of
13.75p each, acquired by the Trustees of the Kingfisher 1993 Employee Share
Ownership Plan Trust ('ESOP') (a discretionary trust established by Kingfisher
plc for the benefit of its employees and those of its subsidiaries).  The
shares were acquired on 23 Oct 2001 at a price of 330.7 pence.


Note:  For Companies Act purposes, certain Directors of Kingfisher plc, whose
names are set out below, together with all employees of the Company, are
deemed to have a technical interest in any shares in which the ESOP has an
interest.
