                IAN CHESHIRE APPOINTED CHIEF EXECUTIVE, INTERNATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT

The Board of Kingfisher plc is pleased to announce that Ian Cheshire has been appointed Chief
Executive, International and Development, with immediate effect.

Ian Cheshire joined Kingfisher in 1998 as Director of Strategy and Development and was appointed to
the Board in June 2000.  His new appointment follows Kingfisher's announcement that it has taken full
management control of Castorama Dubois Investissements S.C.A.
