               SIR GEOFFREY MULCAHY RETIRES FROM KINGFISHER BOARD


The Board of Kingfisher announced today that Sir Geoffrey Mulcahy tendered his
resignation from the Board on and with effect from 5th December 2002.  Sir
Geoffrey stepped down as its Chief Executive on 1st November 2002.
