Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Kingfisher plc ('the Company') has today been notified that, pursuant to section
198 of the Companies Act 1985, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein Securities Limited
held a disclosable interest in the ordinary share capital of the Company of
71,818,701 as at the close of business on 31st March 2004, representing 3.07% of
the issued share capital of the Company.

In the same notification, the Company was notified that Dresdner Kleinwort
Wasserstein Securities Limited ceased to have a disclosable interest in the
ordinary shares of the Company on 5th April 2004.
