and attention as to what kind of new products it would come up with unique
amusement features.
To meet the market expectation and to build gaming machine business to
additional pillar of operation, Konami will introduce attractive products

2. KONAMI Obtained License for Gaming Machine Manufacturing in Mississippi,
U.S.
Success Following the First License from the State of Nevada
Oct. 27, 2000
KONAMI CORPORATION (CEO: Kagemasa Kozuki, hereafter: Konami) obtained
license as the first Japanese company to manufacture gaming machine in the
state of Mississippi Oct. 26th. The approval was made at public hearing of
'Mississippi Gaming Commission' held today in Jackson. At the same time,
wholly owned subsidiary Konami Gaming, Inc.(Nevada, U.S., Established: Feb.
1997, hereafter: KGI) was also granted license for manufacturing and
distribution of gaming machine.
Konami and KGI obtained licenses for manufacturing and distribution of gaming
machine in the state of Nevada January this year and now succeeded in
obtaining the same license in the state of Mississippi. They have already
submitted applications to California and Indiana and eventually plan to cover
all the states with authorized casinos in U.S. Now Konami is well prepared to
make a full-scale entry into U.S. gaming market.
There are about 80 countries worldwide with officially approved casinos and it
is assumed that the global market size of gaming machines is around $2 billion
per annum. U.S. is outstanding leading country with almost 50% share of global
gaming market. In U.S. each state imposes legal restriction to maintain
discipline of the gaming industry. If anyone wishes to be involved in
operation of casino or manufacturing and distribution of gaming devices and
associated equipment, one has to go through investigation of official
organization to obtain license. Only the impeccable ones can pass this strict
screening to enter the market.
Konami, a leading company in the digital entertainment industry, is making the
most of its technical and creative capability to produce gaming machines
appealing to customers as gaming machine business is expected to be the
additional pillar of Konami global evolution.
