Non-Executive appointment to the Board


KSK Power Ventur plc (AIM: KSK.L) ('KSKPV'), the power project company listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, with interests in multiple power plants across India, is pleased to announce the appointment of a Non-Executive Director, Mr. Vladimir Dlouhy, to the Board of the Company.


Mr. Vladimir has had a distinguished career of more than three decades in economic and industrial affairs, academic and government service and brings an extensive knowledge and understanding of Eastern Europe having played a pivotal role in the Czech Republic's transition into a market based economy. 


For a decade following 1978, Mr. Vladimir was actively engaged in economic research in Prague and served in multiple roles as Chairman of the State Planning commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Czechoslovak Government and federal minister of economy. Subsequent to the break up of Czechoslovakia, Mr. Vladimir served as Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, responsible for the policies in the areas of Fuels and Energy, Metallurgy, Industry, Construction, International Trade, Support to Small and Medium Enterprises, Export Promotion and others.


After seven and half years on different governmental and political duties, in June 1997 Mr. Vladimir announced his departure from Czech politics and has since been associated with various leading global corporates. In addition to being on the executive board of the Trilateral commission, Mr. Vladimir currently serves as International Advisor to Goldman Sachs International, Senior Advisor to ABB Executive Management, Zurich and ABB Czech Republic and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Chayton Capital.


The Company also announces that Mr. Scott Bayman, Non-Executive Director, has decided to resign from the Board of the Company. The Board has accepted the same with immediate effect and wishes to place on record its sincere thanks for the valuable role played by Mr. Bayman during the period of association and looks forward to working together on appropriate opportunities in the future.


Commenting on the developments, Sri T L Sankar, Non-Executive Chairman of KSK said:


'The Board of KSK is being strengthened by the appointment of Mr. Vladimir Dlouhy, with distinguished credentials and with significant experience in Europe, as an additional Non-Executive Director. In addition to responsibilities on the Board, the Company looks forward to his valuable services as a member of the nomination committee.  


Further, as part of steps to further strengthen the main board, the Company plans to induct an additional Non-Executive Director over the next two months. It is anticipated that full details will be announced in due course.
