Land Securities Group PLC acquires Wordie Bon Accord Limited
Land Securities Group PLC ('Land Securities') has today completed the purchase
of Wordie Bon Accord Limited ('Wordie').
Wordie is a single asset property company which owns a superior interest in the
Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen. Land Securities purchased the long leasehold
interest in this Centre in 1992. The Bon Accord Centre is a 23,690m2 shopping
centre, comprising 4 stores, 53 shops, food court, 4,650m2 leisure, 2,690m2
offices and car park and was constructed in 1990. Wordie is entitled to 10% of
the rents flowing from the Centre. As at 4 October 2002, Wordie had net assets
of £13.2million.
Land Securities is issuing 1,760,000 new Ordinary Shares of 10p each to the
shareholders of Wordie in consideration for the acquisition. Application has
been made for these shares to be admitted to the Official List and to trading on
the London Stock Exchange. It is expected that trading will commence on 9
October 2002.
