Land Securities PLC Appoints Peter Walicknowski To The Board

Land Securities PLC announce that Peter Walicknowski (45) will be joining  the
Board  as  Strategy  &  Business Development Director  with  effect  from  1st
September, 2000.

Peter Walicknowski joins from Lend Lease where he is currently Chief Executive
of its European operations, based in London.  Lend Lease is a global real
estate group offering integrated development, project management and
investment management services.

Peter has been with Lend Lease for twenty years where for the last ten years
he has been focused on establishing Lend Lease operations in the Northern
Hemisphere, in particular Europe.  More recently Peter was responsible for
leading the team which developed and delivered Bluewater Shopping Centre in
Kent.  This scheme has won awards as being the best regional shopping centre
in Europe.  Peter has held directorships with Lend Lease related companies in
Europe, USA and Australia and has been involved in conducting business in all
of these markets.  He is also a Director of the Lend Lease Global Real Estate
Board.

Peter holds a B.Architecture (Hons) from the University of New South Wales and
has attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Commenting on the appointment Land Securities, Chairman, Peter Birch said
