Appointment of Mr F W Salway as a Director of Land Securities PLC

Following the above appointment on 2 April 2001, I am writing with reference to
the information required by the Company Announcements Office under Chapter 16 of
the Purple Book concerning Mr Salway.


At his date of appointment, Mr Salway had a holding of 2,273 Ordinary Shares in
Land Securities PLC.

With regard to the information required under Paragraph 16.4(a) of the Listing
Rules, I can confirm that Mr Salway has not held any other directorships of 
publicly quoted companies in the last five years.

With regard to the details required by Paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing
Rules, I can confirm that there are no such details to be disclosed.
