ANNOUNCEMENT OF SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES AND APPOINTMENT OF MARK COLLINS
Land Securities announces that Mark Collins (45) will be joining the Group on 27
May, 2002 as Chief Executive of its Portfolio Management business unit. He is
currently Senior Managing Director of GE Capital Real Estate for the UK and
Europe and has responsibility for investing and managing all GE Capital Real
Estate's funding transactions throughout the UK. He joined GE in 1996 and since
that time has been involved in more than 30 separate partnership deals involving
£6.5 billion of investment in real estate. He holds numerous directorships,
including Leconport Estates (MEPC).
Commenting on the appointment, Ian Henderson, Chief Executive of Land
Securities, said, 'We are delighted that Mark has agreed to join the Group. He
brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the UK property markets. We believe
that he will build on the considerable progress we have made to date in
sharpening the focus of our investment portfolio, driving its future performance
to continue improving the returns we make from this part of our business.'
In addition, Land Securities announces that Mike Griffiths will step down from
the Board and as Chief Executive of Land Securities Development at the AGM in
July. Francis Salway will move from his current position as Chief Executive of
Land Securities Portfolio Management to head up Land Securities Development.

contribution he has made during his long and successful career at Land
Securities. That contribution is reflected in the substantial progress we have
made in advancing our development pipeline, which is now one of the most
exciting in the UK. Mike leaves the development business in good shape and in

innovative approach and focus on delivery which have done so much to transform
our portfolio management business over the last two years.'

Mark Collins is married and has three children. Prior to joining GE capital, he
worked in Real Estate Finance, Securitisation and investment markets with
Sumitomo Bank (1990-1996), Richard Ellis (1984-1990) and Hongkong Land
(1980-1984).
He is an FRICS and qualified with a BSc in Valuation and Estate management.
