Land Securities Group Plc 31 March 2004 31 March 2004 LAND SECURITIES GROUP PLC ('Land Securities' / 'Group') APPOINTMENT OF GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE Land Securities is pleased to announce that Francis Salway, currently Chief Operating Officer, will become Group Chief Executive at the AGM on 14 July 2004, succeeding Ian Henderson. Francis joined Land Securities in 2000 and the Board in 2001. Ian will be stepping down from the Board on 14 July 2004 but will remain with Land Securities until the end of 2004 during which time he will lead the Group's representations on government and public sector initiatives. Commenting Peter Birch, Chairman, said 'I am delighted that Francis has agreed to accept this appointment which recognises the role he has played with Ian in developing the Group's strategy. For his part, Ian has made a tremendous contribution to Land Securities which will leave the Group strongly positioned for the future. In addition, through his work with the British Property Federation, the industry is poised to benefit from a better understanding by Government of the contribution property makes to the wider economy.' Ian Henderson added 'Francis has made a considerable contribution to the Group since he joined and I am confident that he will lead the Group on to continued success and innovation.
