                    FINANCE DIRECTOR JOINS LAND SECURITIES


Further to the announcement made on 29 May 2001 regarding the appointment of
Andrew Macfarlane as Group Finance Director, Land Securities is pleased to
announce that Mr Macfarlane has today joined the Board of Land Securities.

Prior to joining Land Securities, Andrew Macfarlane was the Chief Financial
Officer of Bass Hotels and Resorts, a division of Bass plc, which operates or
franchises 3,000 hotels in more than 90 countries.
